What Can Cause Rectal Bleeding During A Bowel Movement After Consuming Bourbon Shots?

The morning after consuming 3 shots of bourbon, I notice rectal bleeding during my bowel movement. I am a regular consumer of light beer (2 or 3 a day) and I never have the bleeding except the day after drinking bourbon. I will try to refrain from any hard liquor in the future, but should I seek any medical attention? Why only after hard liquor? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms can be related to internal hemorrhoids.

An examination by a proctologist is needed to confirm the diagnosis.

I recommend using anti-hemorrhoid cream for local application.

I also recommend to soak in warm water for relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
