What Can Cause Recurrent Flu And Wheezing In An Infant?

Hi, my grandson is 11 months and since birth he is getting flu most of the time and his stomach wheeze also. We brought him to the clinic and was given budecort it helps only for a while but most of the time the flu is still there plus the wheezing can you assist me with this question please.

Hello,

By what you say I feel that your grandchild maybe having a recurrent viral illness which is extremely common in this season.

I will explain to you how are viral illness behaves so that you can be more confident.

Fever of a few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.

Apart from this, some viruses affecting the lower respiratory tract might be causing some wheezing also from which usually children will grow out of.
