Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I m a 27 yo male and today I hurt the underside of my rib cage. My bottom left, heart side. I bent my upper body on a piece of equipment and the equipment leaned over with me on it. I heard a popping sound coming from underneath my rib cage, followed by sharp instant pain. However, 5 min later the pain stopped and I can breathe fine. However, if I press hard in that area or lean on it. There is sharp pain again. What could this be? Thanks

What Can Cause Sharp Pain Under The Ribcage?
Hi, The sharp pain can be related to a soft tissue injury, rib fracture or a muscle spasm. Rest and using a chest belt will help. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
