What Can Cause Stomach Cramps And Red Bowel Movement While On Cefdinir?

I’ve been taking cefdinir for 7 days. Prior to that I took a Z pak. Both were for severe bronchitis. It cleared up. Last night had dinner . All good. Around 10 pm had very serious stomach cramps with diarrhea. Stomach cramps lasted all night and then today. Just had loose bowel movement that is red. Never had this before. Any advice

Hello,

Most of the antibiotics causes gastritis as side effect.
You have taken 2 antibiotics in short period.
so stomach cramps and diarrhoea are because of the antibiotics you have taken.
However blood in stool is suggestive of ulcer somewhere in stomach or colon. If fresh blood (cherry red) is coming then source is colon and if dark brown blood is coming then source is gastric ulcer.
So you need surgeon consultation for proper evaluation.
