What Can Cause The Skin To Turn Red Around The Lips Of A Child?

my daughter is 2 years and 9 mths old. 2 days ago, the skin around her upper lips and lower left corner turned slightly red (as if sensitive to something), then her upper lips turned pretty dark red and turned dry. What s the possible cause and treatment?

Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
The problem in your child seems to be like some allergic reaction. It can be due to some food which she has taken or allergy to anything.
As a remedy I would suggest you apply some moisturizing cream over the dry area and keep observing for any increase or spreading of the redness. Other things you need to look for is any puffiness around eyes and any heaviness of breath which can in rare situations happen when allergy is very severe. In such a case, you need to rush to emergency room soon. Else, keep giving your child plenty of fluids. I hope I clarified your query. Hope your child gets well soon. Take care.
