Thyroid gland is present in neck. it secrets thyroxin hormone which is essential for body. now if secretion of this harmone decreased then it is called as hypothyroidism and treatment for this is to take thyroxin supplements regularly and if it secretes excessively then you have to take medication to suppress secretion
