What Can Subside The Swelling Caused By An Injury?

I was bitten by a friend s dog, injury caused 3 puncture wounds, had a lot of bleeding, went to ER, got thoroughly checked out. 6 stitches, bathed hand in Betadyne solution; received appropriate shots for antibiotics; tetnus, etc. plus Rx for 10 days of antibiotics. My right hand swelled badly, also got x-rays to rule out fracture. My right hand is badly swollen. It s been 2 days. I ve been icing and taking anti-inflammatory meds. When will swelling go away? I now only have 1 good hand to use. Very debilitating. Pain is minimal, but my hand is useless. Can t even write my signature. Driving me nuts. Seriously, when will this go away?
