Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 10 yr old son is complaining that at times his eyes go black and almost at the same time he gets a stomach ache. It happens mostly when he is exercising (he takes martial arts and it moves at a fast pace) but it has been happening more frequently in the past few months.
Hi. Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific. Noted the history related to your son wherein he is getting blackout and pain in abdomen at the same time particularly when he is practicing martial arts. My thoughts and suggestions are as follows: This is very rare presentation for a 10 year old boy. He needs to be well investigated. Contrast enhanced CT scan of abdomen to see for intestinal obstruction and any vascular compromise. MRI of the brain to rule out any pathology. Opinion of Pediatric Surgeon will help the most. Also have keen observation about associated symptoms. Stop the food which instigates the problems. Have blood pressure and other vitals checked.
