What Cause Radiating Pain In Both Sides Of Back?

Hi, My friend who is male and who is 50 years old had a pain on one side of his mid back towards the side and then he is experiencing the same pain at the same point on the other side of his back. Any ideas? he thought he had a fever with it, but I checked and he doesn t, but he doesn t look like he feels well either with glassy eyes..

Dear- thanks for using our service and will give you my medical advise. Your friend is suffering from back pain probably from herniated disc ,spinal stenosis or arthritis. This is probably pressing the nerve and giving radiation toward the side. It depends of the level of nerve damage, pain can radiates to one side or both. He might try bed rest,anti-inflammatory and heating pad for 2-3 days. If no improvement , he should have an evaluation with MRI of lumbosacral .
