Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of pain in abdomen that spreads like the roots of the tree and have constant diarrhea with lots of accidents say for 10 months/weeks (not specified). Has Whipple's operation in 2013, colonoscopy 2 weeks ago is normal apparently although biopsy report is awaited. loosing lot of weight.
The most probable causes are:
- Absence of pancreatic juices with the digestive enzymes does not allow proper digestion and hence is the usual cause of diarrhea. Since the pancreas is totally removed in Whipple operation:
You have to take pancreatic enzyme substitute to have proper digestion of foods of all sort.
Another reason can be an infection of the intestines wherein the normal bacterial flora is suppressed or over powered by the gas producing bacteria.
I would advise you the following:
Send the stool for tests as also the tests of blood and urine.
X-ray of the abdomen in standing position.
Ultrasound to start with.
A course of an antibiotic and ,metronidazole.
Probiotics, curds, and bananas in diet.
CT scan enterography can help a lost.
Get all these things done and you will get the probable cause and get the appropriate management.
