What Caused Loud Pop Causing Clot In Leg?

I pointed my foot the other day and I heard a loud pop in the middle of my shin. I have NO pain from this. 1 day later I see a raised purple/black spot 1 inch in diameter to the left of my shin where I felt the pop (the outside of my left leg). Could that pop have produced/released something causing a clot in my leg? Male, healthy, 35

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are not suggestive of a blood clot, but instead a bleeding (local hemorrhage), which could be caused by a ligament or artery damage. I would recommend using local cold packs and try to avoid straining physical activity.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
