Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

I just read through your question. Though a virus typically comes with fever for 2-3 days, they can sometimes come with prolonged fever. The negative chest x ray is good, the elevated ESR is expected with any illness, even a mild one. Perhaps the ab helped. But in any case, the fever finally resolved which means the illness is resolving. Continue fluids for hydration and give a little more time to heal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Eric Goldstein
