What Caused Swelling In The Inner Ankle And Bruising?

My husband hit his shin at work Tuesday. It formed a knot on his shin. He iced it for 3-4 days and although he still has a small raised area it looks better. Tonight we noticed inner ankle swelling and bruising around ankle and down to the foot/heel area. Should we be concerned?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.A fore leg bones fracture should be ruled out in your case. So it is better to have a X ray of fore leg including ankle in two projections. If no fracture is there then it can be a sprain or strains which can be treated by analgesics and immobilization.A consultation with an orthopedician is appreciated.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
