What Caused The Heterotopic Ossification In My Hip?

I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND BROKE MY PELVIS. I HAD SURGERY THE NEXT DAY. AFTER THE SURGERY THE DOCTOR SAID THAT HE DIDN T GET ALL THE BONE FRAGMENTS AND I WOULD HAVE ANOTHER SURGERY THE NEXT DAY. AFTER MY X-RAY HE SAID HE GOT ENOUGH OF THE BONE AND I DIDN T NEED THE SURGERY. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER MY X-RAYS SHOWED HETEROTOPIC OSSIFICATION IN MY HIP. COULD THE BONE HE LEFT IN ME CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN
