What Causes 5 Loose Stools Per Day For A Kid?

For the past couple weeks, my 6 month old son has been having around 5 loose stools per day (usually he only had one) he never ran a fever, was still having wet diapers, and acted ok. But now, he is having so many bm that his bottom is so sore and red. Can the loose stools be from teething? We have also been introducing solids for about a month now. Any ideas on what is causing the increase loose stools and the best solution for the severe diaper rash?

Hello,

Yes, it is possible that loose stools may develop due to teething. The baby also might have developed diaper rash.

So avoid wearing a diaper, use a soft cloth for support. Use sebamed diaper rash cream with baby wipes.

Continue breastfeeding. If no fever or normal urine output or normal food intake means don't worry.

If symptoms not improved please consult your pediatrician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
