What Causes ALS With Feet, Ankles, Calves And Knees Swelling?

My husband has ALS, and the past couple of days his feet, ankles, calves and knees have swollen. This has never happened before. We ve elevated his feet and it doesn t seem to help. He hasn t been eating salty food, in fact hasn t had much of an appetite at all. There is no pain. What could possibly be the cause of this?

as your husband is having ALS so activity is not more so swelling comes you can use crap band hot and cold therapy to relief swelling and elevation as you told that elevation does not work it because in als activity is low and patient remain in elevation positions in most of the time in a day so to increase active follow active ankle toe movement and calf pump movement and light exercises that will be helpful for him to relief swelling .wish him good health
