What Causes A Black Sand Like Grains In The Stools?

Hi,

For a couple of months now I have had black sand like grains in my stools. For years I have had a sensitive digestive system and with certian food types have acid reflux like symptoms, bloating etc. These symptoms are eased by avoiding certian foods. The black sand like grains in stools are hard and are not nuts or seeds. I appreciate any advice. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, black grains can be as intestine bleed from an ulcer, partially or undigested foodstuffs or others.

A stool microscopy report would be giving best guidelines here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
