Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just noticed a small bump on the back of my throat right on the top left side on the uvula. It is uncomfortable to swallow. Not hurt uncomfty but just a weird feeling like something is in my way. Any idea what this bump could be? I am not sick, do not smoke, may have a glass of wine or cider beer once a month a so but that is it. Please let me know if you have any ideas!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are suffering from bump at the back of the throat which is mainly due to strep throat , viral pharyngitis and could be due to acid reflux. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order examination with laryngoscope. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory and medicine like sucralfate. For now do warm saline gargles and eat non spicy and light food . Also take antacid after every meal.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
