Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The symptoms you describe sound like an
upper respiratory infection. These infections are mostly caused by viruses and symptomatic management will do.However, bacteria infection or superinfections are possible and will need antibiotics. Most upper respiratory infections will present with cervical adenopathies and may explain the lump you describe even though you have not said anything about the precise location of the lump.Even though less likely in your case, other possible causes of such symptoms are
allergy and
airway irritation by environmental irritants.I will suggest you try the following:
-Take an anti-histamin like loratadin
-An anti-inflammatory like dexamethasone
-Gargle with salt water many times per day
-Take enough fluids and get frequent sips of water
-Avoid smoke, dust and cold
If the symptoms persist, you may then see the Doctor for evaluation and work-ups as you may need antibiotics if arguments in favor of a bacteria infection.
Hope may answer will help you
Best regards
