What Causes A Fainting Spell?

i used to have blackouts when i was 17/18 i went to the docs and they couldnt tell me what it was i am now 23 and i had one last night i was ok one minute then i started getting really hot sweating then my eyes went black i then fell to the floor when i woke i was sick. do you have any idea what this could be?
