What Causes A Feeling Of Tiredness When On Coversyl And Crestor?

Lately (in the last 5 months) I've been getting these symptoms: It feels like I lose all of the power in both arms at the same time and can't even lift them up. It passes in about 30 seconds but it stops me in my tracks and I find somewhere to sit down. It happens when I am sitting (twice in the last month) and when I am standing or walking (twice in the last month). I feel numb and am immobilized when it happens. Within a minute or two I can continue what I am doing with some noticeable tiredness in the arms. I am on Coversyl and Crestor because of having 3 stents put in in the last 6 years. Is this heart related?

Neurologist 's  Response
I read your query and I understand your concern.

Looking at your treatment regimen I don't think Coversyl (perindopril) is to be blamed for your symptoms.
On the other hand Crestor (rosuvastatin) belongs to the group of statins, which are known to carry the potential for myopathy (muscle damage) which usually presents with fatigue and muscle cramps. To confirm this hypothesis tests are needed starting with CK levels (CK = creatine kinase an enzyme present in the muscles), but if other possible causes are suspected other tests could be recommended like EMG (electromyogram - study of electrical muscle activity).

I hope to have been of help.
