What Causes A Jolt Like Feeling On The Right Hand?

In my right hand occasionally when I grasp things, I get this jolt/shock that reminds me of being electrocuted or zapped from touching an outlet that had a loose wire or something. About halfway through the intense shock, my hand starts to feel damp and cool, like the feeling you get just after you wash your hands, the whole things only lasts about a minute, but it scares the crap outta me

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to a pinched nerve in the hand. I suggest to maintain a splint to avoid further damage of the nerve. I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day to relieve the symptoms. If the symptoms continue, you should see a neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
