What Causes A Knot At The Back Of The Head?

My 14 year old daughter has a knot on the back of her neck that she is concerned about. I remember having something similar at her age that I believe was just swollen glands. I want to know if this is common or if I should take her to her pediatrician.

Hello,

It may be an enlarged lymph node. Usually, these are caused by adjacent common infections. If there are no other symptoms, I don't think it is necessary to see the Pediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
