What Causes A Knot To Remain For Years?

I was hit on the head 3 years ago and there is a still a small knot in that spot. Is that normal? A few weeks ago I picked at it, because there appeared to be a pimple on top of it, but now as I continue to pick what seems be a scab, I wonder if it has something to do with the knot itself?

It seems to be an organised hematoma. Kindly do not pick it. It can get infected and create more problems. Consult a surgeon and get it investigated.
