What Causes A Large Bump At The Back Of The Head After A Fall?

my daughter was running and slipped backwards and hit her head . She is 3 years old. She cried for about 5 minutes and is acting fine. She does have a big bump and its in the back of her head. The fall was 4 1/2 hours ago. Should I rush her to the ER?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
The bump after fall occurs due to collection of fluid and blood in the scalp.
Observe for 48 hours for vomiting ,altered sensorium,or conulsions.
If any of these are present take her immediately.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
