What Causes A Low Heart Beat In A Child After Birth?

Hi presently my child is in the hospital.He was born on the 5th of april,2012 with a very low heart beat. His heart beat goes from 46-60-70 BPM on a heart monitor.He is eating well and moving very active. Can you please advice what is wrong....Thanks

it may be due to congenital heart block where AV node has taken function of generating impulses for heart beat.consult doctor because baby may need pacemaker.
