What Causes A Lump And Pus Filled Blood Discharge In The Groin Area?

I just found a lump in my groin area (between the vagina & thigh). I popped it thinking it was an ingrown hair. There was green & black puss that came out. I squeezed several times until just blood came out. The area still feels full. Could this be a serious infection? Should I see my GP? Thanks so much, Caitlin

Hi,

It may be a simple abscess due to bacterial infection or ingrown hair too.

Opening abscess without proper sterilization procedure can lead to the spread of infection and sepsis.

Since it's too early no not think of serious issue your infection can spread. Yes, you need to meet a GP in person and check for sepsis or secondary infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
