What Causes A Lump In The Cheek After An Injury?

Hi, my daughter fell and hit her cheek 3 weeks ago on the bathroom sink. It swelled and bruised fairly instantly. The swelling has gone down and the bruising is going away but very slowly. There is a hard lump under the skin that causes a crease in her cheek. It s particularly noticeable when she smiles. Im concerned with the lump and how long the bruising is taking to go away. Is this a normal healing process?

Hi,

Due to blunt injury there can be hematoma collection .The bleeding that occurs result in hematoma collection. Over a period of time, as hematoma resolves it cause local skin symptoms around the hematoma.

Continue ice application, and thrombhophobe ointment may help.
Hematoma may harden and will resolve with time.
