What Causes A Painful Hemorrhoid Despite Using Preparation-H?

Hello,I have had a painful hemorrhoid for the past 5 days (today is the 5th day). I had been constipated right before this all began and took a laxative which worked. My stools are normal, and there is no part of the intestine outside of my rectum. I will feel an immediate need to to have a bowel movement (probably due to the pressure) and it turns out to be a small amount. This happens 4/5 times a day. I am using Preparation H 2/3 times a day and use ice packs over my clothes at the rectum area. Can you advise what else I can do to alleviate the pain. Thank you in advance for any information you can give me.

Your query being appreciated, if this is the hemorrhoid then surgery is the best option else it can not be cured with the medicine or any other therapy, I would suggest to get done the surgery till then you can try, Polycresuline ointment with lidocaine local effects but these may nor cure the disease but just for the symptomatic relief, constipation is the only condition that cause the hemorrhoid and other symptoms, so try to relieve the constipation and for that have more water, and have fiber containing diet, hope this information helps.
