General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for asking healthcare magic.
I understand your concerns

With this presentation, I think the problem might be coming from acid reflux coming from the stomach. This often happens when you are sleeping To effectively control this, you need to take some medications and observe some lifestyle modifications.

Concerning drugs, you need a drug that can soften the secretions at the back of your throat like carbocysteine syrup. Also, you need to take a proton pump inhibitor (like omeprazole) for close to a month to reduce the the secretion of acid in the stomach.

Concerning lifestyle changes:
1) it is advisable to sit up for close to 2 hours after meals before going to bed.
2) Avoid eating much quantities of food in the evening
3) Avoid food that would increase acid secretion like spicy food, pepper, alcohol, fatty foods and caffeine-containing foods.

If you observe these instructions, I believe the problem would be solved

I hope that answers your query
I wish you well
