What Causes A Red Rash Above The Ankle?

I m a 61 yo male,,,very overweight,,,but my concern is I have a 2 inche patch of skin on the inside of my leg,,just above the ankle,,,its red and a bit scaly,,,no pain,,,been there for a very long time,,,doesn t change,,,any thoughts on what it could be?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. The patch could be due to venous stasis dermatitis. its prevalent in obese people especially if your legs are always swollen all the time. also those patches can sometime ulcerate above the inside of your ankle bone.
