What Causes A Red Rash On The Hand?

I woke up with a red mark on the inside of my arm, it s circular and almost looks like a hickey. It s not itchy nor does it look like any bites inside of it. It s in the inside crease of elbow. I did have peppermint oil on my skin, but have used it in the past. Any idea what could have caused this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
I think that your symptoms are related to contact dermatitis.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
1)Wash your skin with mild soap and cool water.
2)use a hydrocortisone cream may be all you need for relief.
3)apply a cold moist compress for 30 minutes, three times a day.
4)moisturizers on it several times a day to help restore the protective layer.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
