What Causes A Red Rash On The Upper Arm?

hi there i woke up this morning with a blotchy red rash on my upper arm amd was hot to touch. i thought maybe it was just a heat rash so ignored it. it is now after 9 pm and the rash is still there still blotchy and still warm to touch do you know what it could be
