hi

thanks for your question

muscle and joint inflammation is common after a viral infection in a child however there are other reasons why your son may not want to walk such as a joint or muscle infection. he therefore needs to be physically examined by a dr and have some blood work done. further tests such as an X-ray or ultrasound may be required.

best wishes
