What Causes A Seizure Along With Increased Heart Rate?

28 year old male had a seizure, his heart rate was 250 when the ambulance got to him. Tests done, brain MRI, chest CT scan, EEG. His blood pressure is now running about 150 over 110. No issues found with any tests so far. What else should we be doing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I noticed he has had may scans and brain examinations to rule out brain diseases that may cause a seizure. I did not see mentioned ECG, heart ultrasound or other tests for the heart.
I would recommend that he gets an ECG, heart ultrasound done and also some blood tests such as metabolic profile, to make sure his heart is well and also his health, in general, is well.

If all the tests come out normal than drug abuse can be the cause of his seizure and increased heart rate and a urinary drug screen can be done in this case.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
