What Causes A Small Bump Of A Quarter Inch On The Adam's Apple?

hi, I am 15 years old and have this very small bump about the size of a pea a quarter inch above and to the left of my adams apple it hurts like an ingrown hair or a bruise to the touch, not very painful and it feels like its attached to the skin, any way this could be a sort of cancer or cyst?
