What Causes A Sudden Sense Of Burnt Smell, Double Vision And Dizziness?

Hi I am concerned because I intermittently smell smoke, the smell is similar to the scent of a cigarette being lit. Sometimes I feel it takes my breath away because it is so strong. There is never anyone smoking or smoke from any other source when I smell it. One evening last week I had double vision, it was very brief, maybe for 5 min and it followed a dizzy episode. I have hx of migraines, my most recent one was about 1 1/2 months ago and I was given Toradol IM. I have not felt right since that last migraine. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on what might be causing that smell.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

The episodes of bed smell could be related to epilepsy seizures. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical check up and performing an EEG and a brain MRI study.
Starting treatment with an anti-epileptic drug may be needed.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
