What Causes A Tissue Growth In The Vaginal Opening While Having A Prolapse?
I have been told that I have vaginal prolapse. I am required by my job to be on my feet for up to 8 hours a day and am required to lift up to 70 pounds. I am 61 years old and just noticed the bulge coming out of my vagina. I m leaning towards surgery as I am sexually active and do notwant the pessary installed. That would require me to remove it any time I wanted to have intercourse. I m still hesitant on whether or not to have the surgery though. Can you give me your opinion please? Oh, I m a type 2 diabetic but was taken off the glyberide because I started eating better and lost weight. I m 5 7 , and weigh about 120 pounds.
If you have been under my guidance I would have adviced you following treatment method.
1) I would have asked you to do kegel exercises first for 3 months.
2) If exercise not effective you can use ring pessary, you need not remove during intercourse.
3) If exercise and pessary, not effective will ask you to go for vaginal hysterectomy followed by 3 months of periods of abstinence.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
