What Causes A Weak Urine Flow After Catheter Removal?

My 21 y/o son had an acute appendicitis last Wed, had LAP surgery. After surgery had cath put in, but then was taken out and discharged home. The only concern he has is his urine flow is not as strong as it was before the surgery ~ should this be a concern?

Hello!
Nothing serious to be worried.
Due to catheter placed in bladder, urine is drained easily without any efforts by bladder.
So, the bladder becomes lazy & need not contract much. This laziness persists for few days even after removal of catheter.
Nothing is to be done as the ability of bladder to contract in response to urine collection comes back to normal automatically.
Hope this information is useful for you.
Regards.
