What Causes A White Coating In The Back Of My Throat?

I have whit coating in the back of my throat. My throat is a little scratchy. I went to a doctor and they gave me amoxicillin and I finished that rx. They diagnosed me with tonsillitis. The white coating is still in my throat. Could. It be something more?

Hello

The most common cause for the white coating is bacterial infection, another possibility may be due to fungal infection specially candida , for this you will have to meet your ent doctor, who will examine you and guide you further.
