What Causes Abdomen Pain And Cramps After A 2 Mm Dilation?

.
Had a membrane sweep yesterday at 38+2 days, was found to be still thick but she could feel little ones head, also managed to stretch up to 2cm dialated. Since then i have been having leg cramps and random stomach pains (not contractions)this is baby number 3. Ive now developed terrible diahhorea, is this likely to be linked or not? And could this cause me to go into labour x

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question.Sweeping of membranes can lead to release of prostaglandins and hence labour onset.
The leg cramps and random stomach pains can be due to severe diarrhoea leading to electrolyte imbalance. Severe diarrhoea can lead to labour induction also.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist urgently and get properly examined, investigated and treated, preferably as an inpatient.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.

Dr Deepti verma
