What Causes Abdomen Pains After Taking Minocycline?

I started taking minocycline in January for my skin, about a week after I started on it I started periodically getting really bad stomachaches that would last for a few hours and then be done. Over the entire week of March 22nd to 27th I felt really sick and added to that really tired, and between those two things I could not do much but lay in bed all week. I never fully got over that, and the periodic stomachaches have been getting to be lasting longer and occurring almost daily. The best way I can describe them is as if there are bubbles in my stomach. Nothing I have tried has made it any better. Is the minocycline related to the stomachaches, and is there anything I can do to make them stop?

Hello
The most common side effect of MINOCYCLINE is "oesophageal ulceration "G I disturbances , dizziness etc .
In my opinion , still you are having abdominal discomfort , so these measures may help you.
Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks. It might also help to avoid eating or drinking for 2 hours before you lie down. To control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolates or fried food .
Also take some antacid ( but if you are still taking minocycline then avoid calcium containing antacid because they interact with minocycline).
If symptoms are sever you may need drugs like proton pump inhibitors like Pantaprazole -d once or twice in day.
Hope this will help you.
When such case visit I advise my patient to take rebamipide 100 mg 2 tablet twice in day for 14- 28 days for complete recovery.
Good luck.
