What Causes Abdominal Discomfort And Bloating After Eating Food?

I currently get pain in my left side and flank area after eating. the meals can be small and I still get this pain plus I develop extreme bloating for at least 30-50 minutes after. I belch and get some relief but the bloating doesn t subside fully for about 50 mins after eating. What could be causing this discomfort and bloating after I eat?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of abdominal discomfort and bloating after eating food. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome , gas pains , gastroenteritis, lactose intolerance, ulcerative colitis or inflammatory bowel disease . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order stool test, CT scan , ultrasound and endoscopy. You should drink plenty of water and eat fibrous diet. Start treatment after complete examination. Avoid intake of large meals at a time and take small and frequent meals. For now eat light , avoid non spicy and heavy food.
