Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Abdominal Gas, Constipation And Diarrhea?
My 21 year old daughter suffers from sever abdominal gas, constipation or diarrhea and oftentimes has fat globules in her stool. She had a colonoscopy and stool sample test done recently and the gastro doctor said it was irritable bowel. We were concerned about celiac disease but he said it didn't present as celiac's. For the last 9 months she has had significant hair loss and now I'm questioning what this could be from.
The given symptoms of constipation or diarrhea could be due to nonspecific illness, sometime diet may be the cause, and actually passing the stool three to four time in day is normal one and same is for constipation.
If does not pass for couple days, then it is not the disease condition but it can be well managed with fiber containing diet, drinking more water, for it is not the celiac disease, hair loss could be due to hormone changed or diet, hair root infection need to be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Husain
