What Causes Abdominal Pain After Taking 'wysolone'?

My father, 55 years old, is suffering from pain in leg. We just visited the neurosurgeon, and he diagnosed that the pain is due to damaged never near knee. He prescribed Wysolone 20, starting from 40mg doze tapering down to 10mg, for the period of 12 days. My dad felt severe pain in stomach on the next day after starting the doze of wysolone 20.
Is that pain is due to wysolone drug or may be another reason?

Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, steroid is such drug that can caused the gastritis if it is given orally, here in this case it could be drug induced gastritis, If I would be doctor of this case then I would try to treat this case with antacid initially, if the symptoms persist then PPI can be tried like Omeprazole, once the course of drug is overs then abdomen pain may comes around, still it is better to discus this with his doctor, hope this information helps.
