Hi my daughter is in Utah and she is from Califronia . She has had 3 cases of really bad cramping , abdominal pain , chills , dizzy .. I heard there she can get sick from the altitude .. She also has black stools and has been drinking the tap water .. Someone told me it has high levels of lead ... Here problem with her stomach happens shortly after she has eaten fairly hearty meals .. I m in Ca and she is visiting and I m worried ... Does this sound like too much iron and and altitude issue ?
Hi, Abdominal pain, cramps ,dizziness, chills could be due to acute gastroenteritis or gastritis or irritable bowel syndrome or colitis. She must have to undergo routine blood, electrolytes with urine and stool examination for R/M,cyst and ova, ultrasound of abdomen. She may require antibiotics orally (quinolones or cephalosporins or antiprotozoals),antihelminthic like albendazole, antiemetic, antiinflammatories, antispasmodics with prebiotics and probiotics. She need further evaluation by gastroenterologist for detailed history and thoroughly clinical examination. Don't relay on the other people's comments, then do not know anything about human body, always follow your doctors instructions. Take care.
