What Causes Abdominal Pain And Recurrent UTI?

hello, my name is tania, 36 years old paralyzed (on wheelchair).from one year ago I had UTI sometimes with fever, nausea and vomiting . I saw several doctors, I made scanner for kidneys, and urinary bladder and an Echo Pelvienne. Also I did several urinalysis and urine culture and nothing dangerous or grave so I took the appropriate antibiotics after each antibiogram ,, (furantoiine, suprax , augmentin,,,,,,) but one day after I finish them I feel the symptoms like before infection treatment and pain in the abdomen or on the sides of the back below the ribs sooooo the infection again and again... what should I do?????

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a recurrent infection

I suggest to do a urine test and a urine culture to confirm the diagnosis.

Through the culture we can which bacteria is causing the symptoms and which antibiotic is effective.

After the proper treatment you should repeat the urine test.

Meanwhile,I suggest to drink a lot of liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
