What Causes Abdominal Pain Radiating To The Back?

Abd pain upper center between ribs radiates to rt upper quadrant and though to back. Have seen GI Dr and hida scan, which was normal. They have me take 1 gas X each morning. It lasts about 24 hrs then gradually gets better. I have been to ER several times for extreme pain. It s been occurring about once a month. No vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. Lab work normal except liver enzymes were slightly elevated.

HI.
The cause of such a pain in upper center of the abdomen which radiates to back can be either due to gastric ulcer or cancer or pancreatitis.
I would advise you to first get your Upper GI Endoscopy and ultrasonography of the abdomen and serum amylase and lipase , EKG to rule out refereed cardiac pain. This will help to get a proper diagnosis to get a proper treatment .
Repeat the liver function tests to see the changes .
