What Causes Abdominal Pain While On Magnesium And Omeprazole?

Abdominal pain, DX with severe gastritis 9/17, on Omeprazole 40mg BID now with bad pain around umbilicus, radiates to pelvis. I eat a few bites of food and have to stop because of pain in abdomen and stomach. Also on magnesium because of the Omeprazole, taking 400 mg, 7 tabs qd. What could this be? Neg. nausea, diarrhea at times but figure it s from magnesium.

Hello,

You may be suffering from gastritis or small bowel infection. It may be due to food intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome or malabsorption of magnesium induced diarrhea. Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Avoid smoking and caffeine drinks, and take a high fiber diet and plenty of water. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
