Hello,
To be honest I am a little perplexed with your account. If you are sure not to have had any seizures, any episodes of
loss of consciousness, then a diagnosis of
epilepsy can't be made. It is first and foremost a clinical diagnosis, can't be made with EEG alone (some abnormalities in the EEG may be found in healthy people). I do not understand why an EEG was requested in the first place since you were consulted for
headaches, it's not used for evaluation of headaches. So I would advise you discuss these issues with the neurologists or take your case to another neurologist.
As for your questions, the medications you mentioned and that one drink do not cause seizures (
fits). If a diagnosis of epilepsy is made then medication is continued for at least 2 years, but in your case it is not clear if the diagnosis is correct. I am puzzled by the dosage as well, if once daily it's too low. It can cause some side effects like
dizziness, weight changes and hair loss. You can take
homeopathic medicine for your stomach.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka,
Neurologist
